Sunday, April 22: 3-5 p.m. 1960’s-style Folk Music Sing-Along. Travel back in time to the 1960’s folk music revival, as the Folk Ramblers – Carl Yaffey and Bill Cohen – lead us in a sing-along.  We’ll do songs made famous by the Weavers, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Kingston Trio, Harry Belafonte, Peter Paul and Mary, and others.  The only instruments will be Bill’s guitar and Carl’s banjo, but everyone’s singing voice will be welcomed, along with your shoes for tapping.   At Byrne’s Pub, 1248 W. 3rd Avenue in Grandview.  FREE admission, but we’ll pass the hat for the upcoming Central Ohio Folk Festival.  Byrne’s excellent food and beer will be available for purchase.  Poster here.

Saturday, April 28: 8 p.m. Special FolkSide Coffeehouse evening featuring Canadian Singer-songwriter, Shawna Caspi.  ". . .[her] arrangements draw the listener into the depths of haunting, atmospheric tracks, then lift them out with airy, bluegrass instrumentation and hopeful narratives for better days. ‘It’s dark granite stone with a shot of glimmering quartz through the middle."
Open Jam 6-7 pm; Open Mic 7-8 pm; Shawna Caspi 8 pm. Held at: The Columbus Mennonite Church, 35 Oakland Park Ave, Columbus. $7 donation at door; $5 CFMS members & students. Under 12 free. Come on out for an inspiring evening and bring someone along!  Poster here.
