Columbus Folk Music Society
WEEKLY COMMUNITY JAMS
In 2006, the late Jan Staats, former Market Manager of the Worthington Farmer’s Market, introduced folk music at the market. A weekly music jam now occurs at the market every Saturday from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. led by the Columbus Folk Music Society.
Since that time, the Columbus Folk Music Society has expanded its jams to serve not only the Worthington Farmer’s Market, but also the Franklin Park Conservatory Farmer’s Market, the summer Commons for Kids event in downtown Columbus and various nursing home/assisted living facilities.
A number of Columbus Folk Music Society member musicians attend, along with interested others, in order to share their love of playing music for the benefit of the community. Other musicians are welcome to join in!
All of the jams encourage audience participation, which is an event highlight!
